The Centre de Primatologie, a unit for the support of scientific research at the Université Louis Pasteur (ULP), is involved in the study and breeding of primates in social groups, which is a unique concept in Europe. The quality of both the research activities and the services offered at the CdP make it an internationally-renowned facility. There are between 600 and 800 primates in the CdP kept on a 30-acre site and bred in groups appropriate to their social structures. The species present number is currently one dozen, representing three large families : Lemurs, New World Monkeys and Old World Monkeys. The CdP offers collaboration and service in behavioural research of primates, biomedical research and training in primatology.
