Station de Primatology / Centre National de la Recherche Scientific - SdP CNRS Website: www.cnrs.fr The Station de Primatologie located in southern France is a part of the Institute of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and commissioned with keeping, breeding and studying primates. On an area of 18 ha, 400 monkeys of three species (Papio anubis, Papio papio and Saimiri sciureus sciureus) are kept. Facilities for keeping and breeding Rhesus macaques will go to work in December 2005. In collaboration with other institutes e.g. the Paris Pasteur Institute the SdP works in the research fields of reproduction, malaria and social ethology.
